NEW BOOK: The Caves of Northern Thailand

The second volume of a new "Caves of Thailand", compiled by Martin Ellis, has been published covering the northern provinces. 

This volume has over 1,150 caves, rock shelters, stream sinks, resurgences and other sites which may be of speleological interest from the provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phayao, Phrae, Sukhothai and Uttaradit. This region has Thailand's deepest caves and many of the longest caves.

Shepton Mallet Caving Club Nan Expedition February 2016

Seventeen cavers joined the fifth Shepton Mallet Caving Club expedition to the Doi Phuka National Park in Nan from 15th to 24th February. In these 10 days 3.6 km of cave was surveyed.

The first week was based in Ban Mani Phruk and Ban Pang Kae in the northern area of the park. In addition to exploring and surveying the caves listed below, surface reconnaissance work was conducted.
