The fourth Shepton Mallet Caving Club expedition to Nan from 18-27 February 2014 was again very successful. Fourteen cavers spent nine days in the field, extending Tham Pha Phueng, the deepest cave in Thailand, to a sump at -476m and surveying a total of 4.6km of cave passage.
Highlights included:-
Cave NA0122/NA0135: explored and surveyed to a length of 1,880m and vertical range of 100m.
Cave NA0121: explored and surveyed to a length of 633m and depth of 73m.
Tham Bpaet Sip: started the exploration of this cave. Length so far 493m and depth 92m
Tham Champi: surveyed 373m.
Cave NA0100: surveyed 256m.
Cave NA0134: surveyed to a length of 290m and depth of 87m.
Tham Rai Phin: Explored a series of wet shafts to a depth of over 150m.
